Abdulla Shareef appointed Commissioner General

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has yesterday appointed Abdulla Shareef as the Commissioner General of Customs. He was presented with the letter of appointment at a special ceremony held yesterday morning at the President’s Office.

Hitherto he had been serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Customs since 9 July 2019.

The position of Commissioner General had remained vacant since the demise of former Commissioner Ahmed Numan. Numan passed away on the 7th of April, while undergoing treatment for a protracted illness.

Commissioner General Shareef has served Maldives Customs Service for more than 27 years at various hierarchical levels in the organization. He holds a Master’s Degree in Customs Administration.

CG Shareef has been appointed at the rank of State Minister.
