Maldives Customs Service makes a donation of the essentials needed by the children at the shelter “Fiyavathi” in Hulhumale. The donation was handed over to “Fiyavathi” by the Commissioner General of Customs, Mr. Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, yesterday during an official ceremony attended by the executives and staff of Customs and “Fiyavathi” and also the children. This donation was received by the CEO of Fiyavathi, Ms. Fathimath Shiyama. Some of the items donated to “Fiyavathi” were kitchen utensils, cutleries and first aid items needed by the health department of the Centre.
Commissioner General applauded the invaluable work done by “Fiyavathi” for the nation and requested everyone to appreciate their work. CEO of “Fiyavathi”, during her remark, thanked Customs for the generous donation and time spent with the children at “Fiyavathi”.
Staff of Customs arranged various activities at the beach earlier in the morning and later in the evening for the children. Beside this, Customs staff painted the walls of “Fiyavathi” and decorated the classrooms in a child friendly way.
These activities are part of the corporate social responsibilities carried out by Customs, yearlong.
