It is important that accurate information is declared, as this data assists business competing in the import and export fields and help government to formulate and monitor policy initiatives and international trade negotiations.
Imports, exports data are collected through customs declarations. The type of data collected includes: type of goods (based on the Harmonized System classification), value (CIF), country of consignment for imports, country of origin, mode of transport, country of final destination for exports, quantity, value on FOB. Imports, exports data are recorded using the Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA). The data collection is based on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System of the World Customs Organization.
We provide statistical data to private companies and individuals. To get import export statistics, application for statistics must be filled and submitted to Statistics section of Maldives Customs Service.
