A Customs stall under the theme “Call 1416... be a partner in Border Protection” was exhibited at the Democracy Fair 2009 held at Dharubaaruge from 13th-14th November 2009. The Customs stall was prepared by tremendous help from Customs executives and staff. The staff of Air Cargo, Passenger Processing, Bonded Warehouse and Head Office worked very hard without much rest for almost a week to make the event a success.

The main objective of Customs stall was to give information to public regarding the Customs border protection program, drug enforcement and clearance procedures. Information were given using leaflets and PowerPoint presentation and videos.

The fair was held to mark the Republic Day 2009 and was inaugurated by the President of Maldives, Mr. Mohamed Nasheed. Overall the fair was a huge success given the enormous number of public who attend the fair.
