Maldives Customs Service celebrates 119th anniversary on 18th July 2009. To mark the occasion a special flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Customs Building. At this ceremony the national flag was hoisted by Minister of State, Principal Collector of Customs, Mr. Mohamed Aswan while the Customs flag was hoisted by Deputy Principal Collector of Customs, Mr. Abdul Razzaq Aboobakur. The ceremony was attended by Customs Executives and Officers from Customs.

“119th anniversary fun run 2009” organized by Customs Recreation Club (CRC) on the occasion of Customs 119th Anniversary was held on 17th July 2009. Minister of State, Principal Collector of Customs, Mr. Mohamed Aswan and many club members participated in the run around Male’ which started and ended at the Customs Building. Cash prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners by retired Deputy Director General Mr. Ali Ibrahim.

The official function to mark the occasion of 119th Anniversary will be held tonight at Rannaban’deyri Maalan / Dharubaaruge. At this ceremony awards and certificates would be distributed to those staff, who achieved exemplary success in various fields during the previous year. Awards will also be given to retired staff and staff who have completed 20 years of service in the organization.
