Special Customs clearance privileges for national diplomatic passport holders discontinued
As from 27th May 2009, Customs has discontinued providing special entry / exit clearance privileges to Maldivian nationals Diplomatic passports.

However Customs will continue to abide by the terms of Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations (1961) which accords diplomatic immunity to foreign nationals holding diplomatic passports in the Customs clearance procedure. Diplomatic passports are issued with the aim of making the official work smooth for the diplomatic passport holders in the foreign countries.
