On 26 February 2009, Sri Lankan male passenger who arrived from Colombo to Male' on UL 105 was intercepted by Malé International Airport Customs Officers due to suspicious behaviour. He was suspected of internal concealment of illicit drug. He was taken to hospital where his X-ray image revealed foreign objects in his intestine. A total of 100 bullets of heroin were recovered through defecation. The bullets were packed and wrapped with multiple layers of polythene. The 100 bullets weighed 714.688 grams including packing.

According to his passport he had made frequent trips to India and he had visited Maldives previously in the year 2008.

In relation to this seizure, on 26 February 2009, two Maldivians have been apprehended in a joint controlled delivery operation by Maldives Customs Service and Maldives Police Service.
